Vodka is a spirit everyone feels like they’ve got figured out. “It tastes like rubbing alcohol” is the consensus and opinion we come across most often talking to our customers in the liquor biz, but vodka can surprise ya. There are a lot of bottles, that aren’t too pricey, that are definitely worth a neat pour with some ice. However, vodka definitely shines brightest in a cocktail. At the end of the day, it is the base of many classic cocktails and the easiest spirit to manipulate in our opinion. And, much like whiskey, flavor profiles vastly change depending on the grain its distilled from. Typical grains used for vodka are corn, wheat, rye, and sometimes even potato.
